    Hello!

My name is David N., and I am a Windows fan who assists others with issues in this community. I will be happy to assist you with your issue.

Microsoft Word no longer converts these files, and Microsoft's stand-alone converter is no longer available. As a result we need to try third-party tools.

You can find online file converters that can convert WPS files to other formats by searching on "convert WPS files". One such option is https://cloudconvert.com/wps-converter. Please note that these websites are third-party and thus neither I nor Microsoft can be responsible for their functionality or any information on these pages. While there seem to be a number of trustworthy converters out there, the use of these is entirely at your own risk. In particular, be careful of ads on these websites.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if this resolves your issue or if you require additional assistance.

    Regards,

    David N.

    Hello!

Thank you for letting me know. I know that .wps files used to not be able to be opened in Notepad, having tried it myself in older versions, and that they used to be able to be opened in Word. Now it appears that it is the other way around. Hopefully this information will prove useful to others in the future.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

    Regards,

    David N.
