USB Ports no longer working on Lenovo Laptop

Hello,

after booting up my Laptop today, all my usb ports stopped working.

There seems to be a problem with the usb drivers. They are all gone in the device manager like USB-Root und Intel xHCI Controller. Just 2 generic USB xHCI Drivers are shown but they are not initialized because of Error Code 37 (Objectname already exists). If i connect a smartphone to a usb port at least it is getting power for a few seconds so i know the ports have at least some kind of functionality.

The Hardware IDs are:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A0ED&SUBSYS_381717AA&REV_20
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A0ED&SUBSYS_381717AA
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A0ED&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A0ED&CC_0C03

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9A13&SUBSYS_380217AA&REV_01
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9A13&SUBSYS_380217AA
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9A13&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9A13&CC_0C03

My System-SKU is: LENOVO_MT_82KA_BU_idea_FM_V14 G2 ITL

Ive tried installing drivers manually and through windows update, with no succes.

I've tried a Firmware and Bios Update through Lenovo (Lenovo Service Bridge) and also all the newest Intel Drivers (Intel driver support assistant).

Ive gone so far to delete the drivers in the registry to force a brand new installtion of the drivers but to no avail.

Tools like sfc /scannow and dism /healthrestore and the windows device troubleshooting don't find anything.

Iv'e also tried a windows repair through the MediaCreationTool and a temporary upgrade to windows 11 but with no success.

My last hope would be a complete reinstall of windows but before that maybe some of you can help me before i choose this tabula rasa option.

Any one or a combination of those upperfilters and lowerfilters entries could cause an issue. The entries are related to third party programs.

You could removing the four entries and restart the computer.

After removing the entries some third party software may not not work and, if so, you could try reinstalling the program(s) using the latest version.

To remove the entries double-click upperfilters and remove the three entries > OK

Then double-click lowerfilters and remove the one entry > OK

Create a System Restore Point beforehand and restart the computer afterwards.

Do you recall uninstalling or installing a program related to USB that may have caused the issue?

Hey short update. This was it!

I knew deleting some registry keys would do the trick but i didnt know the right ones for the usb bus devices. All my usb drivers loaded after deleting the low and upper filters and a reboot.

And yes. I had to install some usb to ttl drivers to access a micropump controller through a special cable. Funny thing is. I restarted my computer a few times yesterday and only today all my drivers were broken.

Thanks for the quick help and we can close this question :-)

    Hi,

Can you check the following registry key?:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}

At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?
