LG Monitor with glow when in sleep mode.

I have a Lenovo Yoga laptop connected to a J5 Create docking station (USB-C). I have a dual monitor set up (1) Samsung 34" Widescreen monitor (Display-port) and a LG 34" widescreen monitor (HDMI). My docking station only has 1 display-port. When my laptop goes into sleep mode, the Samsung turns off completely (black screen), but the LG monitor semi turns off and has a slight glow on the screen which is obviously more visible when its dark in the room. I have changed every setting on Windows 11 (Display) and on the monitor itself. Is this something that is normal with all LG monitors? I have also did all the updates and all drivers are current. I have tried switching ports between each monitor and still have the same outcome. TYIA

    Hello!

My name is David N. I am a Windows fan and advise people here with Windows questions. I will be happy to assist you with your issue.

When a computer goes into Sleep mode, it turns off output to any monitors. The monitor's behavior after that point is dependent upon the monitor. Sometimes they will turn off entirely, but many will go into a standby mode. In that mode they may or may not turn off their backlight.

It is possible that your monitor has settings for what to do in these situations. You may be able to change its behavior so that this doesn't occur anymore. Unfortunately, this could also result in the monitor shutting down entirely, requiring that it be turned back on manually when you leave sleep mode.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if this resolves your issue or if you require additional assistance.

    Regards,

    David N.

Unfortunately, this almost certainly means that there is no way to deal with this other than to turn the monitor completely off. So far as I can determine the computer only ever just turns off the signal. After that the monitor handles the issue.

Sorry that I couldn't give you a better answer, but I am afraid that there is no solution.

    Regards,

    David N.

I have tried the monitor settings and turning them every which way, but still get this.
