Games started crashing randomly a few months, recently got a lot worse

windows 10 64b

msi mpg 550 gaming plus

ryzen 5600x

2080 super

16gb ddr5

650w psu

Initially it was just raid shadow legends that was crashing, about 1-2 times a day. I asked the company, they said to try some stuff, eventually it stopped. Last month it started again, then last week it started to become every 20-60 minutes. Once Destiny 2 also started crashing I did windows repair install, where it removes apps and reinstalls windows but keeps user files. That did not seem to help.

I thought it might be because my ram was at 80-90%, but it happens when it's at 50% usage so maybe not. I checked all my voltages and they're good,

I've got this event log, and then the report it references. I filtered out my IP, hoping there isn;t anything else I should be filtering.

Hi Micheal, thank you for that information, it seems that there is an error with the Xbox app on the PC, in addition, since the issue occurs when gaming, kindly follow the steps below:

We need to run a Clean installation of the Nvidia driver, this is different from doing DDU or updating the driver as this will remove all entries and replace them with compatible ones, kindly follow the steps from the link below:

    https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/...

Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

    Method 2. Do clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    • On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    • Under Startup in Task Manager, select the item for each startup and then select Disable.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

Note: If the issue persists, kindly upload the event logs so that we can further check the root cause of the issue:

To do this kindly follow the steps from this link:

I've just had another crash (destiny 2) but there isn't any warning/error in event log that matches the time. Where should I look for more info?

Alright I have errors after doing windows repair and some before. This is the most recent one, but I found a fix by doing xbox app repair.

1: The server Windows.Gaming.GameBar.PresenceServer.Internal.PresenceWriter did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

Error's related to the crashes before the windows repair, not sure if it matters anymore but worth seeing what it is I figure

2: The server {C53A4F16-787E-42A4-B304-29EFFB4BF597} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

DCOM got error "1053" attempting to start the service BcastDVRUserService_100dcce with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server:

    Windows.Media.Capture.Internal.AppCaptureShell

The GameDVR and Broadcast User Service_100dcce service failed to start due to the following error:

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
