I am currently running a windows 10 computer. It's until now that I realize that my Wifi has been running on Wifi 5 instead of Wifi 6. I checked and both routers and Wifi adapter support Wifi 6 connection. I have been looking for a solution for hours but can't find anything.

Hi Egon, I'm John, a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand you're looking for a way to enable Wi-Fi 6 on your Windows 10 PC, and I'm here to help.

If you've already checked that your router and Wi-Fi adapter in Device Manager support Wi-Fi 6, then it should be using 802.11ax. Or, are you referring to the Wi-Fi name showing "5G", for example HUAWEI-5G-XXXX?

If so, please know that Wi-Fi 6 is technically 802.11ax, and it operates on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies.

I understand the confusion, and I hope this information is helpful.

Specify the exact make and model of your computer or go to Start, type msinfo and attach a screenshot of the System Information page.

Go to Device Manager expand network adapters post the screenshot.
