WhatsApp Desktop not working on Windows 10

Hi,

I'm using WhatApp Desktop on a Windows 10 machine for some time. In The last week whenever I launched the app it asked me to update the app, since it'll be outdated soon. Trying to update it in the Microsoft Store didn't succeed, since I got there only "open" option, without the option to update the app.

Yesterday the app refused to launch unless I update it.

I tried to uninstall it but that wasn't successful either. I tried to install WhatsApp beta, but Microsoft Store wants me to sign-in, but it won't let me sign in "We encountered a problem. Try later...".

I checked my file system using "sfc /scannow". It found some corrupted files and fixed them. But again - after a reboot I have the same problem.

Please advise.

Hi EyalShabi, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

Try to use the updater from the WhatsApp website to see if it'll successfully update the app. Go to this link and click on the Download link on the upper right part of the page. It'll download a .exe file of Whatsapp and it should launch the Microsoft Store and install the latest updates.

    Thanks Paulo,

I've downloaded the installer. It opened a window that claimed that the most updated version is already installed and suggested opening the app. When I opened it, again I was informed that the app must be updated and I cannot use it :(

    It's like a vicious circle...

Can you post a screenshot of it? Perhaps I can check for other solutions.
