Hi you can do following things.

    1. SHAKE OUT LOOSE DEBRIS The simplest way to start cleaning your keyboard is by turning it upside down and gently shaking it. This method works for both external and laptop keyboards.

    1. Turn off and unplug your keyboard (or shut down your laptop)
    2. Hold the keyboard upside down over a trash can
    3. Gently tap and shake to dislodge loose debris

    2. USE COMPRESSED AIR Compressed air is an effective tool for blowing out dust and debris from between keys.

    1. Hold the can of compressed air upright
    2. Spray in short bursts between the keys
    3. Work in a zigzag pattern across the entire keyboard

Caution: Don’t tilt the can or use it upside down, as this can release liquid propellant. 3. WIPE DOWN WITH A MICROFIBER CLOTH Regular wipe-downs can prevent buildup of oils and grime on your keys.

    1. Use a slightly damp microfiber cloth
    2. Gently wipe the surface of the keys and the spaces between them
    3. For stubborn spots, use a cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol

For any remaining dust, use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to ensure thorough cleaning. 4. USE A KEYBOARD CLEANING GEL Cleaning gels, also known as cleaning slime, can be effective for picking up dust and debris from hard-to-reach areas.

    1. Knead the cleaning gel to warm it up
    2. Press it gently onto the keyboard surface and between keys
    3. Lift it slowly to pick up dirt and dust
    4. Repeat as necessary, discarding the gel when it becomes dirty.

    CLEANING A DESKTOP KEYBOARD

For a more thorough clean of an external keyboard:

    Unplug the keyboard

Remove keycaps (if possible) using a keycap puller

Clean the exposed surface with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. Ensure you use pure isopropyl alcohol to avoid any residue from additives.

Soak removable keycaps in warm, soapy water for 30 minutes

Rinse and dry keycaps thoroughly before reattaching

    2. CLEANING A LAPTOP KEYBOARD

Laptop keyboards require extra care due to their connection to internal components:

Shut down and unplug your laptop

Use compressed air to remove loose debris

Gently clean between keys with a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol

Wipe down keys with a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with water

Dry thoroughly with a clean, lint-free cloth

    3. CLEANING A MECHANICAL KEYBOARD

Mechanical keyboards often allow for the most thorough cleaning:

Unplug the keyboard and remove all keycaps

Use compressed air to clean the exposed switch plate

Clean between switches with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol

Soak keycaps in warm, soapy water for 30 minutes

Rinse and dry keycaps completely before reassembling

    4. CLEANING A WIRELESS KEYBOARD

Wireless keyboards require special attention to battery compartments:

    Remove batteries before cleaning

Follow the steps for cleaning a desktop keyboard

Hello. For a laptop it is one component and can require a full disassembly. If the laptop is newish it may be covered by a warranty. If no warranty and you have the time you could do it your self the issue is the plastic tabs on some laptops tend to break if opened incorrectly. If it is a desktop computer with a mechanical keyboard then the keys usally pop out no problem. Can always call a local computer repair store and ask if they can clean it. If it is a hardware issue the repair shop could fix the part too. There is a option of buying a external , wireless, battery, rechardgeable, bluetooth, keyboard & mouse combo device if you wanted.
