How do I make Minecraft use my GPU?

Hello,

I cannot seem to get Minecraft Bedrock edition to use my GPU. I went through graphics settings and set the Minecraft app to high performance, but when I check the Task Manager, it does not use any of the GPU and isn't assigned to any GPU engine while other programs are.

I cannot find ANY file relating to minecraft in NVIDIA's control panel through the Program Settings. (This is even when selecting programs that are not installed on the computer. I can see other video games that I dont have, but none relating to Minecraft)

Is there another way I can get Minecraft Bedrock Edition to use my GPU?

It sounds like your NVIDIA Control Panel might be in a simplified mode or missing some options that are usually available for adjusting the GPU settings.

Check if the Control Panel is in Simplified Mode.

    Open the NVIDIA Control Panel

Click on the View tab at the top.

Ensure that Add "Run with graphics processor" to Context Menu is checked.

Also, make sure that Show only programs found on this computer is unchecked.

If there is an option to switch to an advanced or full mode in the Control Panel, enable it. This will allow access to more detailed settings, including selecting the preferred graphics processor.

Please let me know if this worked for you.

When I go to Global Settings in NVIDIA, I do not see an option to pick a processor, I only see the Global Presets I can use.

Hello there! I am Charity, I'm an Independent Advisor. I'm glad to help you today!

My apologies about that. May I ask if you are using a laptop or a desktop? Sometimes, Minecraft Bedrock Edition may not appear in the NVIDIA Control Panel's Program Settings tab. This could happen because it's a UWP (Universal Windows Platform) app. In this case, make sure you have set the global settings to use the High-performance NVIDIA processor. Unfortunately, you might not see individual UWP apps like Minecraft Bedrock Edition in the list of programs.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

    Kind Regards,

    Charity
