Constant Blue screening on startup and now blue screening when opening games.

For a while now, every time I restart my computer or turn it on, it usually blue screens and restarts multiple times until it eventually boots correctly. I decided to just deal with it for now since I couldn't figure out what was causing this. But now, for some reason, if I launch certain games, the computer instantly goes to a blue screen, and one specific game even crashes my computer without a blue screen. I really want to find the cause of this, and I'm willing to send any files I need to. I've already tried a fresh windows install 2 times, it even does this on my secondary window 11 install when I haven't touched it at all, it came installed on my computer so it shouldn't be having this issue. Usually the BSOD will say "Hypervisor error" or "iqrl not less or equal" theres also other errors I dont remember but I did memory tests and it was completely fine. I forgot to mention that when its starting up it can do 4 things, 1 is start normally, 2 is blue screen, 3 is freeze at the loading screen forcing me to shutdown and try again, and 4 is itll start but itll be a screen that says "Windows couldn't start properly. Repaired."

I just looked at the website for the tool you recommended and it looks like I need a usb drive, I don’t actually have one and I don’t have the money to go buy one right now so I can’t really use it.

well it doesn’t just happen on one game, it also happened on another which didn’t blue screen it just instantly crashed my computer instead, I can’t really reinstall the game since the game is minecraft java and it’s a modded client which means it’s a different instance. The game that instant black screens and blue screens me is vrchat which i’m not sure why it would do this cause I don’t even get to see the game before it does. I tested out all the things I can and it looks perfectly fine, i’ll try to try out the program you recommended. like I said before just yesterday minecraft was working completely fine.

The fact that it occurs in a specific game, leans towards a software or driver related issue.

    • When you get a Blue Screen of Death, try typing out the exact error message. This will provide you with crucial clues about the problem.
    • I recommend using a tool called Memtest86+ that can offer a deeper analysis of your RAM.
    • Try reinstalling the game. If possible, try running it with minimum settings to see if the problem persists.

I tested the memory using the firmware that came with the computer, im using an asus laptop, I checked the website and updated all my drivers already, I did clean out the fans a bit ago, as for thermal paste that shouldn’t be an issue since this computer isn’t even a year old yet, temperatures don’t really seem to be an issue because even when the computer gets hot it never blue screens, the game blue screens even if the temperature is low, I figured out on one specific game the options file I have just causes crashes so it might be a setting causing this but it doesn’t make any sense due to the fact that just yesterday the same settings were working fine. I’ll try a virus scan with malware bytes and windows defender, i’ll also try to test my memory and stuff again.

Hi, Dijuan. My name is Ivan, and I am an Independent Assessor. I'd be more than happy to assist you. I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Don't worry, I'll do everything I can to help you.

It's a complex problem since you've done 2 Windows installations and the problem persists, which most likely indicates a hardware problem.

    • Although the memory tests gave clean results, it's worth re-testing with a different memory testing tool. Intermittent memory problems can be difficult to diagnose. What program did you use to do this analysis?
    • How long has it been since you've done maintenance on the ventilation system and changed the thermal paste? Have you done any analysis of the temperatures presented on your computer by performing some specific activities (opening a game for example)
    • I invite you to perform an analysis of the hard drive and the power supply
    • Do you know if all the drivers, Windows updates, and BIOS firmware are up to date?
    • Some programs can cause excessive use of the CPU or GPU, causing overheating and blue screens.
    • Perform a virus scan with several tools to rule out possible malware or viruses.
    • You must document all the problems and error codes, with this we can look for a more specific route to solve the problem.

If none of this works, I invite you to take the computer to a specialized repair technician, who will be able to do a more exhaustive analysis and can find on-site solutions to the problem.
