Hi,
Everytime when a PDF is open, is created a folder with name .ms-ad under profile. This folder dont have any files inside.
If this folder is deleted, is created again when the new PDF file is open.
Anyone knows what this folder is or why this folder is always created?

I did the steps but not solve, the folder is always created when i open PDF file.
I didn't get yet if is this a behaviour from Adobe Product or something with OS, and why happens...

Did you ever figure out how to stop this from happening?
I just notices that where I usually have that useless 3D folder I now have the empty .ms-ad folder
I have Acrobat version 22.3.20282.0" installed in my Program Files folder
I've never tried deleting it ....let me see what happens.

Yup sure 'nuf, I opened a .pdf and now it's back, still always empty no matter how many files I open at once.
Let us know if you figure it out, I'll post something if I do also.

I had the same empty folder named as .ms-ad.
Therefore, I had tested and confirmed which software produced this empty folder,
the answer was Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2022.001.20142.
After installing the version of 2022.001.20142, I got the empty folder named as .ms-ad.

I can not reproduce when opening a local pdf file in chrome: no ".ms-ad" folder is created in %USERPROFILE%
what program do you use to open pdf files?
is this only when opening pdf files from a local directory?
are you using 3rd party antivirus software?
