To all of the people who have already replied: The user should not have to do anything. This is a Windows 11 BUG. Microsoft needs to FIX IT! I got stuck with Windows 11 when I bought a second computer. My older computer, which I have kept at Windows 10, does not have this problem.
Windows 11 Video Out Of Sync
How can I effectively address the persistent issue of video playback lag on platforms like Netflix or YouTube, where the video progressively falls behind the audio after a few minutes, with the desynchronization continuously worsening over time? It's important to note that this problem only occurs when using the default laptop speakers and not when connected to any Bluetooth devices. I have already attempted to run various troubleshooters, but they have not provided a solution. Here are the details of my system configuration:
- Operating System: Windows 11
- Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1235U 1.30 GHz
- RAM: 8 GB
- System Type: 64-bit operating system
Any guidance or recommendations to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

2024-01-23T23:15:59+00:00 I have the same issue, and I've already been through all the same troubleshooting steps as the person who originally posted. I have also even gone ahead and re-installed Windows. And that still didn't fix the issue.

2024-02-07T15:43:09+00:00 Same here. I built a second PC for my partner.
Specs:
Intel Core i7 12700KF 3.6 GHzCorsair 16GB RAM
Gigabyte B660M Motherboard
Gigabyte GTX 1660 SuperSamsung 512GB EVO 860 SSD
Seasonic GC-550 PSU
All drivers and BIOS version up-to-date.
The machine runs like a dream in games, BUT when playing Audio or Video there is random stuttering with the audio after a few minutes and when playing video after 10-15 minutes the Audio starts lagging behind on the video.I see there are several people with this complaint on Windows 11. Surely there is something at fault here?

- Select a category to see names of devices, then right-click (or press and hold) the one you’d like to update.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Select Update Driver.
- If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.
Uninstall the driver and let Windows update automatically
- In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.
- Right-click (or press and hold) the name of the device, and then select Uninstall.
- Restart your PC.
- Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
Turn off audio engancements
- In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel, then select it from the results.
- Select Hardware and Sound from the Control Panel, and then select Sound.
- On the Playback tab, select and hold (or right-click) the Default Device, and then select Properties.
- Select the Advanced tab and uncheck either the Enable audio enhancements or the Enable sound effects check box (depending on which option you see), select Apply, and try to play your audio device.
- If that doesn't work, on the Playback tab, select and hold (or right-click) another default device (if you have one), and select Properties. Uncheck either the Enable audio enhancements or the Enable sound effects check box (depending on which option you see), select Apply, and try to play audio again. Do this for each default device.
Thanks
