Can't print Amazon QR Code

PROBLEM

  1. I create a return QR Code from Amazon.
  2. From the Amazon webpage, I right-click and select Print.
  3. Print preview does not recognize the bar code. (See image below.)
  4. I cannot print my Amazon QR Code straight from the Amazon webpage.
  5. I recently moved to a new address. At my old address (with a different Internet provided) I had no issues printing QR Codes this way.
  6. From the attached screen shot, you can see that the QR Code doesn't appear in Print Preview.

PREVIOUS SOLUTION

  1. I had this exact same problem several months ago when I first bought my HP 9015e printer.
  2. I talked with HP Support for about an hour and never reached a solution.
  3. After the call with HP, (to best of my memory) I found a setting some place that fixed the problem.
  4. Once I fixed the problem, the QR Codes showed up in Print Preview and printed fine - using the same process of right-clicking on the Amazon page and selecting Print.
  5. I want to say it wasn't a printer setting, but maybe a Chrome or Internet setting?
  6. I moved to a new address, but have the same computer and printer.
  7. Although I fixed the problem at my old address, I now again have the same problem at my new address.

RESEARCH & PROBLEM SOLVING

  1. I've done a web search on finding a solution, and the responses are useless.
  2. HP Support is useless.
  3. I uninstalled the printer and then re-installed.

CURRENT SOFTWARE & HARDWARE

  • Office 365
  • Google Chrome
  • HP Pavillion X360 (laptop)
  • HP 9015E printer
  • Old internet provider: Spectrum
  • New internet provider: Frontier

I solved this problem before, so I know there's a solution. Your help is greatly appreciated.

What I finally figured out is that if I highlight the page, then it prints the QR code. I'm not sure why this is the case, but it works.

    Thank you for your input.

    Thank you.

It would be great if you share screenshots of Printing Preferences and Printer Properties.

Are you able to print successfully from the admin account?

    Thank you, Sumit.

I've gone to Preferences several times, but can't figure out what I need to change.

Regarding my computer accounts, I do have two accounts on this computer. One is my admin account and the other is a user account. I do almost everything in the user account. I've gone to my admin account to check my printer settings, and I can't figure it out.

Like I said, this happened to me before, and I solved the problem. I want to say that I solved it through my admin account, but I've tried everything I can think of. I also want to say that somewhere in my admin account, there was a setting for this printer to read QR Codes. But for the life of me I can't remember!

Regarding printing a PDF: If I right click, select Print, and then select Save As PDF, the QR Code does not appear.

    • So the camera / Other / additional installations are mixed up and not all of them are available through normal updates unless they are separate functions. So here we go.
      thank you

    Hi Jill,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Check if there is a privacy related setting in Printing preferences.

Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.

    Click on Bluetooth & devices.

    Select Printers & scanners.

Choose the printer you want to configure.

    Click on Printing preferences.

Second, if you print a PDF using MSFT Print to PDF printer, does it show the QR code?

Third, let me know if there is a work account involved.

I am looking forward to your response and am committed to working with you until we resolve this.
