Jabra headset connection with laptop

Hi,

I have been using Jabra Elite 75t with my laptops for about 2 years. Some time ago the device stopped being recognized as input/output audio device in Windows 11 Settings Menu. However, Bluetooth connection seems fine.

I tried to connect the headset to 2 other laptops, one on which is the same as mine. It is fine there - headset is displayed as audio device and audio flow goes in and out as it supposed to be.

I also tried to connect another headset to my laptop. It is also fine!

I realize that these tests' outcome is a bit contradictory. Somehow the certain combination of headset and laptop doesn't work.

I tried the basics:

  1. Restore my headset settings to the default. By the way, the headset worked fine with my phone all the way.
  2. Delete the connected Bluetooth device and connect it again
  3. Update all the drivers.

Now I am stuck with the problem and I would appreciate any advice.

Thank you

Yes I can confirm. 22H2 update has broken Bluetooth Headset functionality for me as well.

Especially if you are NOT using an Intel Bluetooth Chipset. It looks like Intel has updated the drivers accordingly, but other vendors like Qualcomm (driver provided by Lenovo) did not.

On my Intel Chipset Notebook it is working fine, on my AMD CPU systems with Qualcomm Bluetooth Chipsets it is no longer working.

Download the "Jabra Direct" software on Jabra's website and use a USB cable to connect your headset to you computer. On the Jabra Direct software, restore your headset to factory settings and try setting it up as a new Bluetooth device on your computer. Hope this helps.

An update from the topic author:

Today my Jabra device appeared as Sound output device. And it works fine. But not a an input device.

    What caused it?

Maybe the recently installed Windows updates:

    2023-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5025239)

2023-03 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5023778)

That is the only explanation I have

    Hello Alexey,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Firstly, could you let me know the specific system version? You can check it by pressing the Win key + R key, and typing "winver", then press Enter, please take a screenshot/photo of it, and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

You may Run the audio troubleshooterSelect Start > Settings > System > Sound > Troubleshoot common sound problems and select Output devices or Input devices*.*

You mentioned that you deleted the connected Bluetooth device and connect it again, did you do it in Windows Settings? I recommend that you uninstall the device in Device Manager, then restart the system and connect again. "Win*" + "X" > "Device Manager" > "Audio inputs and outputs", find the device, then right click > "Uninstall device"*, then reboot.

Meanwhile, I recommend that you confirm in the sound settings that the device has been set as the default audio device after connecting your Bluetooth headphones. Win + R to open*****"Run"*, type "mmsys.cpl" and press Enter to open the "Sound" interface, right-click your target device in the "Playback" tab and "Recording" tab respectively > "Set as Default Device", then click "Ok" to save the settings.

And you may Perform a clean boot to check if the headset is recognized correctly, this is a troubleshooting step. In this mode, we can further confirm whether it is caused by system problem or third-party software or personalized settings. So, please be patient.

Disclaimer*: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.*

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get you back on track.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

I experience the same issue. A few months ago my Jabra 75 stops working on my laptop windows 11.

I tried everything troubleshooting for a few weeks.

I gave up and bought Jabra2-75. It worked on both my laptop and phone out of the box.

But 1 issue I have found with jabra2-75 is that the ear piece rotate forward instead of rotating backwards like the Jabra 75.

Hopefully there’s updates that will fix my Jabra 75 so I can go back using it.
