Hello ,

May i know why Intel CPU Xeon E5-2680 v4 not listed in the supported CPUs for windows 11 upgrade?

I can see other CPUs supported that are lower in specs than this CPU, so please check if Xeon E5-2680 v4 can be added to the supported list.

If it cannot be added, then please share the reason.

It's absolutely disgusting that many xeon and threadripper CPUs are not windows 11 supported however you can get the lowest spec new pentium d processor that is supported. Many of these CPUs do support tpm v2 if the motherboard has it or has a small pcie card slotted in with the tpm chip.

I have 7 computers and laptops. If which only 2 can support windows 11.

All these PC's and laptops are top their of their time. I7, xeon and threadripper.

How much e waste do I need to have due to windows obsolescence.. how much e waste will there be come next October?.

I'm not paying $35 for each pc for a year. I already paid for windows licences on all these machines OEM or original.

I will find a solution for my server.. (threadripper 2nd series) Linux based.

As for the rest it may end up the same way I don't have thousands of $$$ to replace all these machines to something equivalent in today's market.. to gain what???? They don't run that much faster.

Then what windows 12 comes around and makes them all obsolete again. Get lost Microsoft!

There is a way to install win 11 in a PC that is not comply the minimum requirements like TPM 2.0 and some other functions but I don't know if I am allowed to post it in here

    Do some research about

"win 11 fresh install in old PC"

It's really simple You only need to do a little modifications in your registry during the beginning of win11 install process

    But before doing anything

First you have to make a back up of your personal files preferably move them to a different hard drive or SSD

    Then you can safely continue

I think that it is important to do a fresh install

I'm not sure if it works if you modify the registry and then try to upgrade from windows 10 to win11

Honestly I didn't notice any problem while using win11

when it comes to functionality everything worked perfectly

Personally I prefer win10 but I believe now win11 is forcing users to upgrade, I don't really know much about it

But I read that somewhere else

I don't know if something has chance with the latest updates

currently I dont need to use the computer that much because i do almost everything on my phone

Rarely need to use the PC to flash a cellphone or unlock it

But you don't loose anything by trying

    Good luck

My name is Jonathan Deives. I'm an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

    You can see the processors compatible with Windows 11 at this link, unfortunately your CPU is not listed;

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardw...

It is possible to install Windows 11 on devices that don't meet minimum system requirements, but it is not recommended:

Whether or not the CPU supports Windows 11 has more to do with more than just the specs. It must have an architecture equivalent to Intel Core 8th generation or above, E5-2680 v4 having an older architecture.

May I know what exactly missing from E5-2680 v4?

Also, what are the minimum requirements that are in the core 8th generation?

For the missing requirement in the old architecture of my CPU, what exactly the impact if I installed Windows 11 on this CPU while this requirement is missing?

    Thanks in advance.
