Hi. I'm Brian and I will do my best to help you.

OneDrive is integral to Windows. In what way does it "screw up" your system? By default, the folders Documents, Pictures and Desktop will be synched to the online OneDrive cloud, but you can certainly disable that.

I somehow lost an install for a program. The main problem is that I did not know the files were being sent to onedrive and several programs lost file as they are now scattered all over the machine instead of where I had them directed. I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD A PROBLEM IF ONEDRIVE WAS NOT INSTALLED WITHOUT MY CONSENT!

I hate how Microsoft pushes some programs and useless features but don't fix known issues. How about fix Microsoft security or at least concentrate on that as their enterprise users could lose billions. I am so frustrated I think I will upgrade to Apple as the end of windows 10 is coming. At least they seem to be interested in user security.

OneDrive does not "scatter" files "all over the machine." They remain exactly where you put them: in Documents, Pictures, Desktop or any other file you configured to back up to OneDrive. If you don't want those folders synched to OneDrive, just remove that option in OneDrive's settings. There are plenty of tutorials on the web that will show you how, but a little poking around in the settings on your own will also reveal it. Settings>Backup>Manage Backup. Uncheck the folders you don't want synched. Reboot.

I though I did but when the virus, one drive, keeps installing itself and it caused problems.

How about allowing Edge and Onedrive to be permanently removed?

How hard is it to just stop installing unwanted programs?

How about turning off the logging program that comes with your AI in Edge?

It should not be a research project to remove onedrive.

I did lose an install of a program because it was installed on onedrive for some reason. Maybe because it was installed in it's own folder as per installation recommendations. Plus associated files were in their own folders that got sent to onedrive also caused problems. I transferred the files from onedrive they were no longer recognized by the program. Guess I have to upgrade.

Maybe you could answer another question. With windows 10 coming to an end I have to update my desktop motherboard. Would I be able to transfer the windows serial number to the new motherboard mac?

I really understand your frustration here however One Drive comes as a part of Windows and can be enabled or disabled as per the requirement.

If you want to provide feedback about Microsoft services, you can do so and our team will take into consideration.

Select Start , enter Feedback Hub in the search bar, and select the Feedback Hub app from the list. This launches the Feedback Hub app home page.

Press the Windows logo key + F.

When you open the Feedback Hub app from the Start menu, you’ll see the home page. Here’s what you’ll find there:

A search bar, with the default text Search feedback.

The Report a problem and Suggest a feature buttons, which take you to the Feedback tab where you can see if someone has already submitted the same report and upvote it or submit a new report.

The Feedback tab contains All feedback, My feedback, and Drafts:
