    Dear daniel jones8!

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

Don't worry. I will work with you to resolve the issue.

Based on your description, I understand that you encountered the error "Something happened on our side" when trying to download games from the Microsoft Store. The solution is as follows:

    1. Check the network connection:

Make sure your network connection is stable. If it prompts that you cannot connect to the network or "There is a problem, please try again later", please check the proxy settings. Clear the proxy settings in IE's "Internet Options" -> "Connections" -> "LAN Settings" and use automatic detection settings.

    2. Confirm the time, date, time zone and regional settings:

Make sure the time, date, time zone and regional settings on the computer are correct. Control Panel (View by: Category) → Clock, Language and Region, confirm whether the time is synchronized with your time zone, and whether the region and language are your local language.

    3. Confirm whether Windows updates are up to date:

Settings-Update and Security-Check for Updates to ensure that the Windows system is up to date.

    4. Reset the App Store:

Press Win+R, enter WSReset.exe, and reset Microsoft Store.

    5. Run the Windows Store App Troubleshooter:

Settings - Update & Security - Troubleshoot - Select "Windows Store App" - Click "Run Troubleshooter" and follow the prompts.

    6. Temporarily disable or uninstall third-party protection software:

Test installing an app. If the problem is solved, it is recommended to use the built-in Windows Defender.

    7. Repair damaged Windows files:

    • Search for "cmd" in the search box, find the command prompt, right-click and select "Run as administrator". Enter the following command and press Enter: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
    • Then enter the following command and press Enter: sfc /scannow

Check the output of these commands. If the problem is found but not solved, it is recommended to use a restore point to restore to a normal Windows configuration or create a new account.

    8. Reinstall Microsoft Store: Run the following command in Windows Powershell (Administrator):

    Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    9. Fix the GamingServices problem:

    • Run Powershell in administrator mode and enter the following command: get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
    • After completion, enter the following command again: start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
    • Press Windows+R, enter wsreset, wait for the App Store to open, click the library in the lower left corner, and check whether the gaming service can be installed successfully.
    • After success, enter the Xbox installation manager again to check whether the update has been completed and can be used.

    10. Create a new local administrator account:

If the above methods do not work, you can try to create a new local administrator account and check whether you can download normally in the new account.

If the above solutions do not work, it may be due to an abnormality in the system files. Please try to repair your system files.

Disclaimer: It is recommended that you can repair the system directly through the ISO file. This is not a reinstallation of the system. It will repair your system and will not delete files or applications. However, if there is important data in the computer, we still recommend backing it up in advance.

Once the backup is completed, follow the steps in the guide below:

Visit the following site, click "Download the tool now" (note that it is not "Update now"), and download the Media Creation Tool.

    • Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) Run the MCT tool, create an ISO image and run it
    • When the ISO file is downloaded, double-click it to open it and run setup.exe
    • Select "Not now" on the "Get updates, drivers, and optional features" page.
    • Next step Confirm your files and applications. The settings are retained. It will also show you the version of Windows it will install.

If you are asked to enter a key, it means that the ISO you downloaded does not match your current system version.

    • On the "Choose what to keep" page, select "Keep files and applications".

-Click Install to start lossless repair.

I hope these steps can help you solve the problem. If you have any other questions, please feel free to let me know.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

    Best regards,
