Windows 11 Upgrades - Compatibility Issues

Hi

I have around 40 PCs running windows 10 and they have failed the check to upgrade to Windows 11. Failed on CPU and TPM.

I have seen some reg edits to bypass the checks and Windows 11 will install. I just wanted to ask peoples opinions on doing this?

Will the PCs work for now (With possible issues) but going forward if feature updates are released, will i run into the same issue again with the compatibility issues?

So what i am trying to work out, is if there is a stable work around? or if i need to go to the MD and say we need to replace all PCs!!! (Before Oct 2025)

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thank you for that screenshot, provided the PC's have a 6th gen processor (1) and Windows 10 is installed in UEFI Mode (2), then you can upgrade them to Windows 11, but Microsoft indicate they will not be responsible for any problems that may ensue, many people have upgraded to Windows 11 on unsupported 6th gen processors and Windows 11 runs smoothly with no problems and they have received all updates, the only problem you will experience is when version 24H2 is released, you will not be able to install that update when they block the registry tweak.

Microsoft provide the required registry tweak on this link and you would need 40GB of free space on the C drive and use the Windows 11 ISO to perform the upgrade.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

It is possible to upgrade to Windows 11 on unsupported hardware with the registry edit that Microsoft provide, however, it depends on how old the hardware is on whether it is a good solution and also, Microsoft will block that registry fix in version 24H2 when it is released later this year, so you would not be able to upgrade to version 24H2.

Please provide some more information on some those PC's, so I can advise you if you should install Windows 11, click the start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.
