Shift not working to select Multiple files in Windows 11

Hi I have Windows 11 on my most recent computer and I don't know if it is part of the updates from Windows 10 but if I select the first document and then the last document the other documents in between do not select. It is really annoying.

I found that using shift + up or down arrow works, but it is not the same, especially when selecting a long list of files. It is rather more difficult to keep watching what files are being selected until the last one you want to select (which is not necessarily the last file on the list) than simply selecting the first and last and the others in between being selected automatically.

I saw an answer about using previous drivers from the computer but couldn't find any, it says all have been installed.

Is there any way to gain this functionality?

Select multiple files works in View/Details:

Hold Shift key then select the first and last files by clicking in the file name

    >> do not use the Check Boxes for this <<.
