Updated graphics driver, now pc lags and fps dropped in any game I've tried.

I installed deadlock yesterday to participate in the play test and the game prompted me to update my graphics drivers. I figured I'd do that since it had been at least since December 2023 that I did a graphics driver updated. I didn't take note of the previous driver I had but I went to 560.94 and the issue started. I've gone through several different drivers (560.81, 560.7, 556.12, 555.85 and also tried 551.52) but the issue still persists. I used DDU in safe mode every time to get a clean wipe before trying a different driver. Not really sure how to proceed here on what to troubleshoot next?

Hi Hassib, thank you for that information, as per checking and analyzing the event logs, there are multiple GameInput Service service terminated unexpectedly errors, this issue occurs due to miscalibrated GPU driver and Xbox app-related errors, for us to fix the issue, kindly follow the steps below:

We need to run a Clean installation of the Nvidia driver, this is different from doing DDU or updating the driver as this will remove all entries and replace them with compatible ones, kindly follow the steps from the link below:

    Method 2. Do clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    • On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    • Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

If none will work from the above solution, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade wherein it will upgrade the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

Hi Raju, I've tried many drivers indeed but I was also cross referencing with Overwatch 2 and Black Myth Wukong. Before I updated the first time, both were easily running high settings 144fps 1440p. now both are at 60 on low settings.

You have tried many drivers, will you check other AAA games, do you dropping frame rates in other games also?

Don't concentrate on decreasing 5 or 10 FPS.
