changing the sort order for files and folders

Don't know how you define these two ways of sorting, but I need to sort my files -

not in this manner (current) >

7
10
90

111

But in this >

10
111

7
90

I presume (hope!) it's a simple registry tweak.

You have to disable numerical sort to get the correct order. More details and instructions here:

You may also disable numerical sort using my free WinSetView app. More details here:

Hi stormthedog, This is Ramesh.

You can turn off the numerical sorting using the "NoStrCmpLogical" registry edit.

Please see:

https://admx.help/?Category=Windows_10_2016&amp...

and

windows - Unable to disable numerical sorting in File Explorer - Super User:

https://superuser.com/a/1656233/542839

In the Registry Editor, create the registry DWORD 32-bit value "NoStrCmpLogical" in one of the following keys and and set its data to "1".

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Logoff and login again for the change to take effect.
