Hello Tai,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.
I understand that you are experiencing audio issues on your Windows 11 computer.
- Could you please clarify what actions were taken in the Device Manager regarding the High Definition Audio device that caused the audio to stop working? Did you accidentally uninstall the High Definition Audio drivers?
- Additionally, could you provide a screenshot of the available audio drivers for your device, as well as a screenshot of your system information?
Meanwhile, try these basic troubleshooting steps to see if they resolve your issue.
1. Run Audio troubleshooter:
Select Start > Settings > System > Sound > Troubleshoot common sound problems and select Output devices.
• The troubleshooter will identify the problem. Once completed, restart your PC and test the audio output.
2. Uninstall Audio drivers:
a. Open Device Manager.
b. Select the arrow next to sound video and game controllers.
c. Right-click your generic audio driver (usually High definition audio device or Realtek (R)), select Uninstall device, select the Attempt to remove the driver for this device check box, and then select Uninstall.
d. Once uninstalled, restart your PC.
e. Check the Audio output on your laptop.
(Note: This restart will automatically prompt your PC to re-install audio drivers)
I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.
Best regards,
Gunasekar N
