Hello Minecraft, My name is Jayshri. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.
It sounds like you're having trouble burning an MP3 audio CD because your system is incorrectly detecting the CD-R as not empty or erasable. CD-Rs are write-once discs, meaning they can only be written to once, but they should appear as empty if they haven't been used yet.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
- Confirm that the CD-R is blank. You cannot erase or reuse a CD-R. If it has been written to, even partially, it cannot be reused.
- Insert the CD-R into your CD drive.
Open File Explorer and go to This PC.
Right-click on the CD drive and choose Properties to ensure it shows as "Empty".
If it’s empty, follow these steps:
Drag the MP3 files into the CD drive in File Explorer.
Right-click on the CD drive and select Burn to disc.
Choose With a CD/DVD player when asked how you'd like to use the disc (not as a USB flash drive).
- In the burning process, lower the burn speed to 8x or 16x. Higher speeds can sometimes cause errors.
- Try burning to another new CD-R disc to rule out a bad batch of discs.
- Open Device Manager.
Expand DVD/CD-ROM drives, right-click on your CD drive, and select Update driver.
Restart the computer after updating to see if the issue is resolved.
If the CD-R is blank and you're still facing issues, you may need to test with a different burning software like CDBurnerXP.
