As of writing im currently locked out of my laptop with this showing on the login screen "The Referenced Account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to" before this happened There was an issue on my microsoft edge it was logging out my microsoft account that was connected to it and my gmails at first i thought that my wifi is lagging but couple of times trying it still logs out on its own then after that i just left it there and just browsed away until later i noticed my microsoft account that is logged in into my laptop was also logged out, i tried logging in inputing my email and password then after that it requested my pin which i entered then it says wrong pin even though its correct (i had the default pin same for years now) and after a couple of tries it accepts it now as correct but now loads again and says something like "oops it looks like we have a problem on our end" and to try to login again so i did the process again had the pin rejected and couple of tries again it works but the same message pops up again the problem on their end thingy so i got infuriated and restarted my pc hoping that it will fix my problem but things got south even more so after restarting my laptop, here i am on the login page inputting my password which has been the same for years now and i have ofcourse memorized it, now the laptop says incorrect password so maybe i thought to myself maybe the one capitilization is wrong so i try again this time checking the spelling and capitilazation properly and it still says incorrect password so i try again a couple of times... it then says welcome shows the loading icon then says "The Referenced Account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to" so here i am now i have been trying for the past two hours looking up online solutions watching yt vids yet nothing is working

Anyways thank you for reading this much, its late at night currently as im writing this post/discussion so i apologize for the wrong english? And such im just tired and just want to fix my laptop. Thank you again and any help would be gladly aprreciated :)

Hi, Aliyxx. My name is Ivan, and I am an Independent Advisor. I'd be more than happy to assist you. I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this issue. My working hours vary & I usually reply between 09:00 am & 6:00 pm Monday to Sunday - (GMT-5).

    1. Go to the Microsoft account recovery page https://account.live.com/password/reset from another device.

Follow the instructions to reset your password and try to log in again on your computer.

    1. If you see a message that your account is locked, wait 30 minutes and try to log in again.

If you've tried multiple times and still can't access your account, visit the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the steps to unlock it.

I hope this helps you log in again. If you feel like it's already afternoon, you can try again tomorrow morning when you've had some rest.

The message “the referenced account is currently locked” usually indicates a security measure activated by Microsoft rather than a direct hacking attack.

    1. Contact Microsoft support directly and explain your situation in detail. They may be able to provide you with further assistance or information about the lockout.
    2. To access your Microsoft account from another device, check the recent activity section to look for suspicious logins or actions.
    3. Run a full system scan with your antivirus software on another device to ensure no malware may have compromised your credentials.

Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Hello, sorry for the late reply But i have already tried this too yesterday, apologies for not including it into the post was so sleepy yesterday evening when i was writing that post, I reseted my password two times First time i reseted the password i waited 30mins and account still says its locked than the next reset i waited an hour still locked and recently this morning after i woke up so around 8-9 hours later reseted my password again like you told me to but its still not working, I'll be waiting again for 30 mins before attempting again

Question, is it possible that i got hacked? Recently my family has suffered some attacks lately one was my grandmother having her facebook hacked then my mother someone was logging in through her gmail but was repelled sucessfully.
