Do you have the normal sign-in screen asking for a password or is it asking for a PIN or something else?

    Thank you for the update!

It's possible that the Num Lock key is activated on the login screen, which can cause the keyboard to type numbers instead of letters. Try pressing the Num Lock key on your keyboard to toggle it on/off and see if that changes the behavior

Hello, and thanks for reaching out! I'm Nals, and I'll be happy to assist you today. My response times may vary, but I generally reply between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM IST (UTC +5:30) every day of the week.

Can you provide me with a bit more information about what's happening with your keyboard? When you say you can't type letters, do you mean the keyboard is completely unresponsive, or are you experiencing issues with specific keys or characters?

Is this happening with an external keyboard, or is it your laptop's built-in keyboard?

Have you tried restarting the computer? If not, please try to restart the computer and see if that helps

If the issue persists, please try the following steps

Step 1: Run the Keyboard troubleshooter

Press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.

Type the following command and press Enter:

    msdt.exe /id KeyboardDiagnostic

This will open the Keyboard Troubleshooter. Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix any keyboard-related issues.

    Step 2: Update the driver

Press Windows + X and select Device Manager from the menu.

In Device Manager, expand the Keyboards section.

Right-click on your keyboard device (it may be named something like "Standard PS/2 Keyboard") and select Update driver.

Select Search automatically for drivers. Windows will search for and install any available updates.

Restart your computer to see if the issue is resolved.

If updating doesn't work, you can try reinstalling the driver:

In the Device Manager, Expand the Keyboards section and right-click on your keyboard device.

Select Uninstall device and confirm any prompts.

Restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the keyboard driver.

If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I'm here to help!

    Best regards,

    Nals
