I've been using a PIN to log into my laptop that its been so long and I forgot the password. I can't remember what it was and It appears that I did not save it. I am still able to log into my device with the PIN, but I'm wondering if there's a way to reset the password without resetting the whole Laptop and deleting its data.

If you forget your PIN, you can try other login options to access the system without resetting the entire device or losing data:

Option 1. Reset login password with Microsoft account:

    1. If you signed in using a Microsoft account, open a browser and go to the Microsoft Account Password Reset page.
    2. Follow the prompts to enter your account information and select Verify Identity by Email or Phone Captcha, after which you can reset your password.
    3. When signing in, make sure your device is connected to the network and enter your new password.

    Option 2: Use a third-party tool:

If you aren't using Microsoft to log in to Windows, some third-party Windows password unlocker tools offer the option to reset your password without wiping your data, such as the more popular iSunshare Windows Password Genius. Unfortunately, even though the unlockers are effective, they're largely not free.
