drive for HP LaserJet 1100 for windows 7

It appears that HP does not support Windows 7 on that device:

HP are the ones who write and supply the Drivers for their Products.

There is Windows 7 driver for the HP LaserJet 1100 available via Windows Update. This driver may or may not have all of the features that HP originally provided back when the printer was released, but it will enable you to print.

There are three ways you can get the driver:

    1. If your computer is connected to the Internet, when you connect the printer to the computer and turn the printer on, Windows should pop up a small window asking you to permit downloading the driver from Windows Update. If you give that permission, the driver should download and install and you'll be done.
    2. Use Windows Update manually
    3. Go to https://catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=laserjet%201100 where you will have to figure out which of the 73 entries is the correct one for your particular installation of Windows 7

If method 1 didn't work for some reason, the next easiest method is method 2. Here's how:

    • Disconnect the printer from the computer
    • Click Start, type printui /s /t2 in the Search box, and press Enter
    • The "Print Server Properties" applet will open with the "Driver" tab selected
    • Click the "Add" button to start the "Add Printer Driver Wizard"
    • Click "Next"
    • Select the correct box for your system: x64 for a 64-bit system or x86 for a 32-bit system, and then click "Next"
    • In the "Printer Driver Selection" window that opens, scroll down and select HP in the left pane
    • Now scroll down in the right pane. If you're lucky, you will find an entry for "HP LaserJet 1100 (MS)" as shown in the screenshot below. If you're not so lucky, click the "Windows Update" button and wait. And wait. It will likely take quite a while, but eventually, the list of printer drivers should update to include the one you want.
    • Select "HP LaserJet 1100 (MS)" and click "Next"
    • Click "Finish" to complete the Wizard
    • Close the Print Server Properties applet.
    • Connect the printer and turn it on. It should now install properly.
