I have had this PC for nearly a year without problem and since last week every time I open any game on my pc after 5 minutes the game will freeze my entire pc, then my pc will crash and restart. When I go into event viewer this is the only event causing a problem, it reads:

Event 7000, service control
The GBTECService service failed to start due to the following error:

The system cannot find the file specified.

I have hard reset my pc and that fixed it for a day but its back to causing problems, would love any help from anyone who knows more about this stuff cheers.

Did that fix your issue or did you do anything else too?
you mentioned possible overheating issues before.

I had the exact same issue as you at the start and i am at the point where i dont get any error logs except that my PC wasnt shut down the correct way.

I dont even get a memory dump from the crash.

I tried the steps you mentioned but for me the issue remains

I am dreading having to swap out hardware just to see if that may have caused my problem

Gave this a go and once again, the solution worked for a day and then stopped working the next, I noticed since disabling GBTECService that the crash is now happening about 3 minutes within opening the game. It now freezes the game and my pc but doesn't actually shut it down anymore, I waited about 20 minutes yesterday till I manually turned it off.

If there are any more options they would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

GBTECService is a component of some Gigabyte utility installed on your PC, completely uninstall that, then go to the support page for your PC or motherboard, and from there, donwload and re-install the latest available version of that Gigabyte utility.
