RZ616 wifi 6e 160mhz wifi not working in Gigabyte X670 ax Motherboard. PLEASE HELP!

I have a pc built with Gigabyte X670 ax (rev 1.0) motherboard. It came with this RZ616 wifi 6e 160mhz antenna. Things were fine 3 days ago until I updated my windows and AMD adrenaline drivers. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 7700x cpu.

Everything else works except there is no wifi option, even if the adapter name is visible in device manager's network adaptors.

Also, the wifi only works after, when the pc is shutdown for the entire night and switched on the next day. It will work for 30-45 mins and then disappear.

I have installed drivers from microsofty catalog but nothing.

ran the troubleshooter, network reset...nothing works.

Clean installed win 10 again. updated Bios, but nothing. Upgraded to WIn 11 before that from Win 10, didnt work...so clean installed win 10 again.

Also weird thing, pc stutters a bit when there is no wifi, or when it disappears suddenly

    I have the exact same problem. I've tried to uninstall device from device manager then download driver (literally raw driver file) from motherboard manufacturer website, microsoft update catalog, etc. none of them worked. Checked BIOS several times, nothing was wrong there.

    Until I came across lenovo (laptop) driver installer (in executable file) which also using RZ616 wifi card. Voila! IT WORKS like a magic!

    I recommend to uninstall device (in network adapter or other devices) before installing.

    Best of luck!

    For the future.

    I have got Asrock b650i LIGHTINING WIFI.

    RZ616 just turned off and did not want to boot up.

    I tried keeping my fingers on power button for 1 min. Did not work
    I tried installing drivers from Asrock website for MOBA for NCI. Did not work.

    I found one post on reddit to install drivers from there: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/search.aspx?q=rz616%20wi-fi%206e%20160mhz
    I
     tried three of them of which just the latest worked. ( I recommend checking out few of drivers until you find a working one)

    I suppose also that the note-worthy it is to disable "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in device manager.

    It just works now. I am going to change the chipset to AX200 or AX210 ASAP because the Mediatek is not stable at all (based on infinite ping command output and spikes)

    The best solution is to go for Intel ax chipset after all.

    When searching for the model on the Gigabyte website, I only find the models in the image below.

    When checking the drivers for the X670 GAMING X AX, they are the same drivers I suggested before. It seems that AORUS and GAMING are similar.

    When Wi-Fi disappears, do the following:

    1. Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager";
    2. Click on the "View" menu and select "Show hidden devices";
    3. Expand "Network adapters";
    4. If the Wi-Fi adapter is listed, right-click and select "Properties". Check if there is an error in "Device Status".

    Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool. Or take a picture of the screen using a smartphone and send it.

    Also, please send a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

    Maximize the window and use the screenshot tool. Or take a picture of the screen using a smartphone and send it.

    I await your reply. Click on the "Reply" button below my reply.

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    From what you said, it looks like you haven't tried the driver provided by Gigabyte for your motherboard yet.

    I suggest first installing the drivers provided by the motherboard manufacturer. Drivers provided by AMD Adrenalin or Microsoft Catalog may not work satisfactorily in all cases.

    Download the latest Wi-Fi driver from the link below and install it.

    https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Driver/m...

    I'll leave the Bluetooth driver as well.

    https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Driver/m...

    I also suggest installing the Chipset driver from the link below.

    https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Driver/m...

    For each driver, extract the ZIP file, run the extracted file, and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.

    After installing these drivers, restart your PC and see if Wi-Fi will work properly even after turning on your PC the next day.

    Feel free to ask back any questions.
