No audio device is installed. Possible BIOS/UEFI issue.

Windows 11. The speaker on the task bar has a cross over it and hovering over this gives the message that "No audio device is installed". I have run Troubleshoot sound problems which tells me "Apparently, you don't have any audio devices connected.

I suspect that this could be an issue resulting from changes made to BIOS/UEFI.

History...

1.. In an attempt to resolve an issue with the system clock I tried to perform a clean boot of Windows 11. When I restarted in safe mode (clean boot mode) I was met with this message on the login screen Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again After clicking I was told to install an app to reset the pin. Of course since I was not logged into Windows there was no way to install the app.

2... At this stage I decided to do a fresh install of Windows 11 from scratch. This ran smoothly up to the stage that I was asked to set up a PIN and the installation froze.

3... After some research I determined this was likely a problem with a disabled TPM in the BIOS/UEFI.

4... I booted into the BIOS, accidentally did a restore BIOS Defaults under the save and exit tab. I reenabled secure boot under the security tab, enabled Security Device Support under the Advanced tab and enabled fTPM under Platform Trust Technology under the Advanced tab.

4... This allowed me to reinstall Windows 11.

After all this I now have the problem that no audio device is installed. I suspect that because of all the mucking around with BIOS, that the issue may be there.

Review of the BIOS setting shows that HD-AUDIO is enabled but there are dozens of other settings here about which I have no idea.

Any help would be appreciated. The computer is a MiniPC model SN4PRO-V6 made by LEADER.

Screen shot of device manager is attached.

Thank you Raju. I did not think to look at the LEADER website to see if there were any drivers since when I received the computer it was already loaded with a Windows Installation file. When I first started the computer it did an automatic installation of Windows 11 and the Audio was working OK. It was only after I had to do a fresh restoration of Windows 10 that I had no audio. The reinstall had to be done from a Windows ISO image on a USB stick since when trying to reinstall from the computer HDD, it froze at the point that the PIN needed to be entered. I had to reinstall Windows 10 rather than 11 because Windows 11 requires TPM to be enabled but Windows 10 does not. It was only after I learned how to fix the TPM issue by going into BIOS that I was then able to upgrade to Windows 11.

Of course, in retrospect the Windows image included on the HDD would have included all needed drivers while the ISO obtained from Microsoft did not.

I will let you how it works out. The download has started very slow at 20KB/s for a 487MB file despite my own high speed fibre connection to the network.

With respect I do not think you have closely read what I have said. To be able to switch my user account to local, I would have needed to log into windows. I could not log in because I was not able to enter my PIN and there was no other login option offered.

Secondly, is it not so that the TPM is enabled by entering the BIOS/UEFI and not from within Windows

    Hello, kencooke

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

If you suspect the issue may be related to BIOS settings, you can first switch your Windows account to a local user that doesn’t require an email login. This way, you won’t have to worry about TPM affecting the PIN, as logging in with a local account doesn’t require a PIN or even a password. After that, you can enable TPM:

A common reason for hardware not being recognized is outdated drivers.
