Apps won't close if I leave my computer.

I just started running into an issue after I updated to Windows 11. My computer has run fine all day, but I left some apps running, like Opera GX browser, and discord open and when I came back after an hour they wouldn't close or do anything.

I tried opening task manager and it froze too and wouldn't show me apps. After a bit of me trying to close apps from the task bar, my computer completely froze. I had to shut it down with the power button.

Last time this happened I even tried closing apps from the cmd prompt but when I opened that it froze too.

I ran into a lot of errors in event viewer, but when I look them up they said that they were harmless. For information purposes, there was over 2000 event ID of 2 (in 3 minutes) before I shut down the computer. They all say "Session "OculusVadApoEventTrace" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035". I'm guessing that the OculusVadApoEventTrace is from the meta quest app or Beatsaber running.

This has happened before and I was wondering if anyone has run into this before or has a fix.

    Hello, Aaron Manning

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

Thanks for your feedback. I read the information you provided. You mentioned that your computer would freeze after running for a whole day and could not perform any operations.

Please let me kindly remind you that please do not leave your computer on all the time. Doing so will reduce the life of the hardware. At the same time, Windows will cache many irrelevant files when it works for a long time, which will cause the system to run slowly. If you need your computer to wake up quickly, I suggest you try to put your computer in sleep mode so that the computer runs in node mode and can wake up quickly at any time.

Please restart your computer. According to your error message, it seems that the Meta application caused these errors, so I suggest you try to uninstall all Meta-related applications in Settings and then check again to see if these errors still exist. Detailed steps are as follows.

Press Win + I, open Settings, and then select Apps. Then find the relevant program to uninstall.

    Best regards

Brian - Microsoft Community Support Specialist
