Went into ethernet status and disabled IPv6, set my IPv4 address manually and it worked. windows has done something strange as far as I can tell.

I have a new update to the issue that I'm having, I believe it's a windows problem but I am unsure. IPv4 is not working at all and IPv6 so some websites that can run solely off V6 are working but things that need v4 can't run. I have a spare windows 7 PC that works perfectly and apple laptops work on wifi. Windows 10 and 11 laptop report incorrect IPv4 address

    Hope this helps.

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor.

Let me help you with this issue.

I understand you have an error with Ethernet not having a valid IP configuration error.

Have you tried using a different Ethernet cable?

If you have a spare Ethernet cable, try using that one to rule out a faulty cable.

If you're experiencing this issue on both your PC and laptop, the problem likely lies with your network setup rather than the individual devices.

The next step is to try to power cycle the Router/Modem

Unplug the power cable from the router/modem.

Wait for at least 30 seconds.

Plug it back in and wait for it to fully restart (all lights should stabilize).

Please try using a different Ethernet port on the router.

Plug your Ethernet cable into a different port on the router to see if the issue is with the specific port.

Please try to reset the router to factory settings.

Look for a small reset button on the router. Press and hold it for about 10-15 seconds using a pin or paperclip.

Note that this will reset all settings, including Wi-Fi SSID and passwords, so you’ll need to reconfigure them.

I have tried with different Ethernet cables. I have tried resetting the router. The wifi is working for other devices. My router is running into a network switch which I am connected to and have also reset. Again other devices running into the switch work. When I run "ipconfig" in CMD I can see my IP reported is wrong. I tried running recommended command prompts in CMD that didnt fix. I then tried doing a network reset in network and internet settings and that caused me to be able to use very few aspects of an internet connection. I can watch YouTube. But steam and other connections don't work. My IP still reports as an incorrect value. Connecting to wifi on my laptop doesn't work either whether it's home wifi or my phone hotspot. Both problems presented after being away for a week.

This has me extremely confused I hope someone can help me with this
