Wi-Fi Disconnections and Missing Power Management Tab on Wi-Fi Adapter

Hello, I'm experiencing persistent issues with my laptop’s Wi-Fi connection. Specifically, my laptop frequently disconnects from one Wi-Fi network (Wi-Fi 1) and switches to another network (Wi-Fi 2). When it disconnects, the first Wi-Fi network temporarily disappears from the list of available networks. After a few seconds, it reconnects, and this cycle repeats continuously.

Here are the steps I’ve taken so far:

  1. Tried disabling auto-connect and forgetting one of the networks, but it still switches and stays disconnected for longer periods.
  2. Checked device logs, and I see multiple errors related to my Wi-Fi adapter:
    • "Device requires further installation" messages.
    • "Problem Status: 0xC00000E5" error for my Wi-Fi adapter (Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201).
  3. I’ve tried updating the driver multiple times, but the issue persists. Logs also show frequent mismatches with driver versions (like oem71.inf, oem90.inf, and oem116.inf).
  4. I noticed that when I try to access the Power Management tab for my Wi-Fi adapter in Device Manager, the tab is completely missing. I’ve tried looking for hidden devices and updating drivers, but I still cannot find the Power Management options.

Could you assist me in resolving this issue? Any help on the frequent disconnections and the missing Power Management tab would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Rishi,

    Lets try this

    1. Open "Device Manager" and expand "Network Adapters"
    2. Right click on everything that has the word "Wifi" in it and select "Uninstall device"
    3. Restart PC

    If that doesn't fix it

    1. Open CMD as administrator and run these commands in this order
    2. sfc /scannow
    3. Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    4. Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup.

Hello, Thanks for the solution. Turns out after uninstalling the wifi drivers and the restarting my laptop, and then only using one wifi while never connecting to the other solved the issue. Kudos!
