How do I change the grid size on windows 11 desktop?

I had to change my scale size to accomodate a program popup function which was too large. That worked for the program, but not for me, so I changed the resolution. Now my desktop grid has way too much space between the icons. I tried changing the resolution back to recommended, but that didn't change it. I had to turn off snap to grid so I could put them closer together.

Is there a way to change the grid spacing on the desktop back to where it was before? I lost a couple of folders from the desktop when I was trying to move them around. I don't know why. I could find one, but not the other, so it's just gone along with everything in it. Will a system restore bring back that desktop and change the grid back?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics

In the right hand pane, what values are set for IconSpacing and VerticalIconSpacing

By default, those values should be this minus value: -1128

If that is not the value, double click each item to change the value

Then close the Registry Editor and restart (not shut down) your PC.

This Community is just a user to user forum, the best option is to open the Feedback Hub (Windows Key + F) and send a suggestion to their developers from there.

That is something they need to fix for those of us with vision impairment. How do I make that suggestion?

There is currently no registry setting that can change the Desktop font size in Windows 11, all previous registry edits that worked in other versions of Windows do not work in Windows 11.

That worked well, but I had to change the vertical spacing a little.

Is there a way through the registry to change the size of the font on the desktop? It's so small, and I have vision problems. I tried changing it through the system settings, but it didn't change the desktop.
