Trojan virus. Is this a scam?

Received a warning today 10/1/2024 that my computer has Trojan virus that is affecting Microsoft servers. Warning says not to turn off computer and to call support. Is this a scam?

    Let me help you with this issue.

    I understand you are seeing a pop-up on your screen about Trojan virus showing you that it is from Microsoft.

    That is a fake alert, a technical support scam.

    Please close that window by tapping on ALT F4, or CTRL ALT DEL and open Task manager, end task on all browsers that are open.

    Scan your machine using Windows Security.

    Help. I have had the same issue and did the above and updated 9 listed security updates. I then rebooted as required but still waiting, after 2 hours, for the lap stop to finish its normal start up. Do I just wait?
