Hello everyone,

I could appreciate some help.

After I went out of the Insider Program, now Windows Update only is able to download "Windows 23h2 repair version", but the Download fails at 8%. I've uploaded the Panther folder here https://we.tl/t-Bxz4gX6ekn If you don't like WeTransfer, let me know an alternative and I'll upload it there.

The diagerr.xml has this to say:

    Hi ChaosInJapan,

The display driver "nvlddmkm.sys" seems to have caused the crash during setup.

    Hello Ramesh,

I retried again marking down "Do not install updates". And that got rid of the OneSettings error at first, but anyway, it failed in the same way. During the final step. Here's both Panther and Rollback: https://we.tl/t-Pvtaphua2R

If you any reference to the G: drive in the logs, that's the .ISO monted in the virtual disc drive.

Thank you for your time, by the way.

    Kind regards,

Please share "Rollback" folder as well.

    Hello Ramesh,

First, I don't think there's a connectivity error with Windows Update. But anyway, first I used Windows 11 Installation Assistant. It undo the changes during one of the final reboots. Then I did the sfc.com /scannow. And then finally I used your suggestion. It failed. In the final screen after the reboot, when it's "installing updates" it got stuck at 89% and then it finally "finished" and entered Windows. But a pop-up told me it had failed. My Windows is set to Spanish so Error: 0xC1900101 - 0x4000D Installation error during SECOND_BOOT phase during MIGRATE_DATA.

Here's the new Panther folder for that (if you need any other folder please let me know): https://we.tl/t-kMme03eh6y

The setuperr.log says the same thing the old log used to say:

MOUPG SetupHost: OneSettings initialization failed: [0x80072EE7]

    hwreqchk: ERROR,ProcessJson,606,Unable to GetSettings [0x80072EE7]

    Failed to Query OneSettings [0x80072ee7]

I wonder what this "OneSettings" is about. setupact.log says:

2024-10-04 14:22:15, Info Reading onesetting for tracing settings

2024-10-04 14:22:15, Info Onesettings: Querying Prod server settings-win.data.microsoft.com

2024-10-04 14:22:15, Warning Onesettings: Failed to Query Onesettings: 0x80072ee7

2024-10-04 14:22:15, Warning Onesettings: Failed to initialize and query: 0x80072ee7

2024-10-04 14:22:15, Warning Failed to create OneSettings infrastructure. Error: 0x0880072EE7

2024-10-04 14:22:15, Info Reading onesetting for tracing settings completed, Error: 0x80072ee7

2024-10-04 14:22:15, Warning No onesetting configured or error getting onesetting

I can't ping it (I assume it's ping restricted) but I can find it on DNS. Also, I thought it would be an offline installation.

    Hi ChaosInJapan, This is Ramesh.

The log indicates the system is unable to connect to the WU servers. Please download the 24H2 ISO and do an in-place upgrade.

    1. Download Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) from this link:

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2156295

    1. Run MCT and download the ISO it recommends for your system. Do *not* uncheck "Use the recommended options for this PC".
    2. Right-click on the downloaded ISO and choose "Mount." This assigns the ISO a drive letter.
    3. Run setup.exe from the ISO drive. This starts the repair installation.

(Your files, settings and applications will be preserved if you use the ISO recommended for your system by the Media Creation Tool.)

    Note:

If you can't download the ISO using the above method, you may use the third-party tool "Rufus" to download it.
