Hi all,
I need some help! I know much more about Apple Computers than I do about Windows. I'd say power user for the Mac, but newbie to windows since 98.
Anyway, my question is this. I understand Vista had a lot of problems and it wasn't well recieved. I personally love the look and feel. I don't know exactly if I'm running 32 or 64-bit. I use winver at cmd but all it tells me is Windows Vista Business. I can't connect to the Internet via Ethernet even with a cable plugged in. I fixed the issue with Windows 7, but there's so much more support for 7 than there is for Vista.
I need:
-RealTek PCI Family Controller under Network Adapters
-General USB Hub
-SM Bus (either Operator or Controller)
The same ones do not work for Vista as they did for 7. Thanks for any and all help!
Yours,
Dakota Slovacek
The Drivers for any Windows operating system that you install all depends on the Computer Manufacturer.
They are the ones who write and supply the Drivers for their devices that they sell to you.
You can't install whatever operating system you want to on whatever computer you want to.
And Windows, whatever version, does not come for free, you have to buy it if it never came preinstalled when new.
But Microsoft now only sells Windows 11, which is not suitable for older computers.
Go to your Computer Manufacturers website > find the Drivers download section > key in your exact computer model number > locate those Drivers, IF the computer manufacturer supports Vista on that exact model number > download and install them.
Use the computer you are on to get here to download/save them > copy to USB flash drive > transfer and install on non working device.
