Previously i was connected with HDMI, when changed to Display Port, issue started happening more frequently. Ive updated all the drivers yet not able to figure out what the issue is with. Also i was hearing device getting plugged in/out sound when this was happening. I Changed my mouse and keyboard, yet the problem stays. Really dont know what to do, already re-installed windows as-well.

I am having a similar issue, but I've narrowed it down to HDMI to Display Port Cable connection. I know you won't have a fix for that, just thought I'd let you know.

For context I have 3 screens (all identical), 2 of which are HDMI to HDMI, the last one is HDMI to Display port. I'm also using an AMD graphics card so i doubt it has something to do with the graphics cards.

    What I've tried:

    1. Switching Cables in random order, the screen that goes black is always the HDMI to Display port cable.
    2. Tried a different cable, same result.
    3. Updated and reinstalled windows.
    4. Updated graphics Drivers
    5. Tried a different Power Supply
    6. Removed all screens except for the HDMI to display Port screen. In this case, the single screen goes black from time to time.
    7. Tried alternate Display port on the graphics card.
    8. Installed old graphics drivers (This caused my pc to crash, fun day.)
    9. Event viewer shows nothing coinciding with the screen black out.
    10. Tried every combination of refresh rate across all my monitors.
    11. Holy water.

The only thing I haven't tried is to reset the bios and I'm not entirely sure that will even help.

side note: I noticed it happens more frequently the longer the PC stays on.

    Hello Faseeh Zaman

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

The issue with your monitor going black and the "device plugged in/out" sound could be related to several factors, including cable issues, power supply problems, or hardware malfunctions. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Cables and Ports:
      1. Ensure that the DisplayPort cable is properly connected and secure at both ends (monitor and computer).
      2. Try using a different DisplayPort cable to see if the issue persists, as the current cable might be faulty.
      3. Check if the problem occurs with HDMI again, to isolate whether it's related to the DisplayPort specifically.
    2. Monitor and Graphics Card Settings:
      1. Review the monitor's settings to ensure they are correctly configured for DisplayPort input.
      2. Check the NVIDIA Control Panel settings to make sure the correct monitor is selected and the display settings are appropriate for your monitor’s resolution and refresh rate.
    3. Power Supply and Electrical Interference:
      1. Ensure that the monitor and computer are connected to a stable power source. If possible, try connecting them to a different power outlet or use a surge protector.
      2. Check for any electrical interference from other devices that might be causing the monitor to lose connection temporarily.
    4. Update and Reinstall Drivers:
      1. Although you've updated the drivers, it might be worth checking for specific DisplayPort firmware updates for your graphics card or monitor.
      2. Try reinstalling the graphics card drivers completely. Use the Display Driver Uninstaller tool to remove the current drivers and then install the latest version from the NVIDIA website.
    5. Hardware Troubleshooting:
      1. Test the monitor with another computer or a different monitor with your computer to determine if the issue lies with the monitor or the PC.
      2. Inspect the graphics card and motherboard for any visible signs of damage or loose connections.
    6. Check System Logs: Look into Windows Event Viewer for any warnings or errors that coincide with the times the monitor goes black. This might give clues to whether it’s a hardware issue, driver problem, or something else.

Since you've already tried reinstalling Windows, it suggests the issue might be more hardware-related, particularly since it occurs more frequently with DisplayPort. If the problem continues after these troubleshooting steps, it might be necessary to consider professional repair or contacting ASUS support for further assistance.

If there is anything not clear or I can't understand your problem, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards
