a driver cannot load on this devices error for AMDRyzenMasterDRiver.sys

Here is the system information

OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Home

System Model OMEN Laptop 15-en0xxx

Processor AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics, 2900 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)

The driver [AMDRyzenMasterDRiver.sys] is being blocked. It started right after a recent windows update. I simply would like to know why it would count it as a vulnerable driver, if its safe to allow the download of the driver, and how to do so. I'm not the most intelligent when it comes to computers so, I hope I'm not asking anything dumb.

    Hi LilCalico, This is Ramesh.

AMDRyzenMasterDriver.sys is part of the AMD Ryzen Master utility which is used for overclocking the CPU. The Memory integrity feature in Windows is blocking the vulnerable driver from loading, hence the error message.

You can uninstall the AMD Ryzen Master utility via Settings → Apps and Features.

If you need it later to overclock the CPU, you can download the latest version from the AMD site.

AMD Ryzen™ Master Utility for Overclocking Control: https://www.amd.com/en/products/software/ryzen-master.html#features

However, some users suggest not to use the overclocking tool, especially on laptops. Please see this thread at the AMD site.

The easiest way to fix this issue is to reinstall the utility directly from AMD. Go here: https://www.amd.com/en/products/software/ryzen-master.html

Download and run the driver for your AMD CPU (either 2000 series or 3000 series). If you need help determining which you have, run "msconfig" on your Windows machine, choose the Tools tab, and then System Information. Click Launch. Your processor will be listed on that page followed by the series number. It will either start 2xxx or 3xxx.

When you run the AMD utility, it will uninstall all previous versions of the driver first and then reinstall the latest driver. If you are running this on a laptop, it will clean up all previous versions and NOT install the latest version because AMD no longer allows this driver to function on laptops. Either way, it resolves the issue.

I have the same problem. My PC recently updated, after restarting a window appeared "AMDryzenmasterdriver.sys cannot be loaded in this device". But the AMD Ryzen Master Utility is nowhere to be found.
