2024-10-07T07:05:36+00:00 Hi,
Kayece here, An Independent advisor and a user just like you. I will be happy to assist you today.May I ask if this only happens on the messenger or does all external links from other apps open to MS Edge?
In the meantime, you can follow these steps:
*Open the Windows Settings by pressing the Win + I keys.
*Navigate to Apps > Default apps.
*Scroll down and click on Choose default apps by protocol.
*Locate MICROSOFT EDGE in the list
*Click on the program icon to the right of it.
*From the list, select your desired Browser to set it as the default for the protocol.
*Confirm the change if prompted.
*Restart your device.
*Check if it still opens links in MS edge.I hope this helps. If you need more assistance, please let me know. I look forward to your response.

My default browser is already Chrome.
My default browser is Google Chrome. I've checked twice. Links in Meta Messenger is opening links in Microsoft Edge anyway.

2024-10-13T20:56:41+00:00 You need to install version: 2150.23.211.0 (The last version before they made it an Edge window) because **** is trying market monopolization AGAIN (for like the 500th time). I'm sure Mozilla, Google, and/or the US Govt will sue them for Anti-Competitive practices yet again (they did this in the early 2000s as well: https://www.justice.gov/atr/us-v-microsoft-courts-findings-fact).
You can DL the older version from a bunch of different sites, but heres one example:

2024-12-16T00:02:37+00:00 The bottom line is Firefox could support whatever mechanism is used in Chrome, but despite getting $600 million a year from Google, they prefer to spend it on diversity nonsense rather than a working browser.
The Mozilla Corporation reinvests all profits into its development projects, most notably Firefox and Thunderbird. Its non-profit parent, the Mozilla Foundation, can do other things as well, but its mission is about the health and openness of the internet, data privacy, integrity in AI, and holding tech companies accountable. I can't find any direct donations other than $10,000 to OpenSSH. The only mention of diversity I could find is in their hiring practices - that doesn't cost anything.
Firefox is an excellent browser - if you think it doesn't work, you haven't used it. One of the reasons it's great is that it is not running the Chromium engine (what you called "whatever mechanism is used in Chrome") like Chrome, Edge, Opera, etc. Instead, Mozilla continues to develop and maintain its own engine in order to stay independent and focus on privacy and extensibility. That is a good thing.
