WordPad...Help!

New Microsoft Windows 11 update yesterday, woke up to the fact that Wordpad is gone. After almost 30 years, I googled this and I gather that Microsoft recommends Word to replace it. Either with a subscription to Office or a standalone version of Word. Either way.......money. Money. Money. What is the easiest way to get the standalone version of Word? It's 179.99? I think, too? Seriously? Suggestions? Please.

    Hello, this is Emily.

    Yes, unfortunately WordPad is retired.

If you don't want to subscribed to Office apps, you can use the web version for free via www.office.com.

Of you can consider other similar three options, such as

    libreoffice

    WPS

    Jarte
