My touch screen on my laptop constantly glitches in that it will have a ghost touch being that it appears someone is touching the screen but I am not. i have no control when this happens and cannot get my mouse back. This glitches so often and bad to the point that I have had to disable my touch screen entirely. How can I fix this? I have tried updating the driver for the touch screen as well as cleaning the screen and neither have worked.

    Hello, mah moud

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Hello, thank you for your feedback on your issue here, I'm sorry to hear that you're having ghost touch issues with your laptop's touchscreen.

I will provide you with some suggestions on what you can do to troubleshoot the issue first to see if it could be a hardware or software issue:

    1. Disable and re-enable the touchscreen driver:

Press Win + X and select Device Manager.

    Expand HMI Devices.

Right-click on the HID-compatible touchscreen and select Disable Device.

Wait a few seconds, then right-click again and select Enable Device.

    1. Update or roll back the graphics driver:

Sometimes the problem may be related to the graphics driver. Check to see if an update is available, or roll back to a previous version if the problem started after the most recent update.

In Device Manager, expand Display Adapters, right-click your graphics driver, and select Update Driver or Properties > Drivers tab > Roll Back Driver.

    1. Change the power management settings:

In Device Manager, right-click the HID-compatible touchscreen and select Properties.

Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

    1. Run the hardware troubleshooting program:

Open Settings > Update and Security > Troubleshooting.

Select Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter.

    1. Check for BIOS updates:

Visit your laptop manufacturer's Web site to see if a BIOS update is available. Updating the BIOS can sometimes solve hardware-related problems.

    1. Finally, enter the safe mode to test to rule out other factors:

If these steps still don't solve the problem, it may be a hardware issue and you may need to visit an offline store to get a professional to check your laptop's screen touch for broken touches.

    Best regards
