Issue as seen here, the cursor turns "invisible" when hovering over text fields, more accurately, it turns white on a white background causing the cursor to be invisible:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ilkR84dhOgA on the left I have notepad, on the right word.

cursor shows fine in note pad, but in word it disappears. this issues also happens in other programs like edge/chrome.

This is happening on both of my desktops

Tested the following which didn't fix the issue:

  • Hide pointer while typing is turned off
  • Updated all my drivers
  • wire/wireless/bluetooth mouse
  • reinstalled windows (tested both clean install from USB and reset from settings)
  • sfc /scannow
  • changed text select cursor icon
  • remove/disable any cursor/mouse related programs
  • updated windows to the lastest public release

OBS and screenshoting show the cursor just fine, even when I cannot see the cursor

anyone have any idea what the issue is?

    Hello,

I had this problem too, I was working on a google doc for school and my mouse kept going practically invisible when it was on the document paper. I went into my computer setting search bar and typed "mouse cursor" and the settings popped up where I could pick from a selection of mouse pointers and even adjust the size. I used the all black one and made it bigger and now have no problem. So far, so good. Hope this helps.

    Hi -Lin-,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on the original description, the device seems to be experiencing issues related to the unusual invisible cursor behavior.

This could be related to different factors including, but not limited to, driver failures, component conflicts, corrupted account profile, corrupted system components.

We tried to test this in Windows 11 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3880) on different apps but failed to reproduce the issue.

In addition to common system-level settings, the processing logic between a particular version of the driver and a particular version of Windows' APIs can be a potential factor in the problem.

If possible, would you mind sharing more information about this issue with us?
