Good morning, could anyone suggest a Video converter to go from WMV to MP4 ! I have tried one or two out of the stores but they seem a little complex for what I want. I was using NCH for a long time but they have stop me using this free! I have tried downloading their complete package but I end up with things I don't what. The NCH Prism in the MICROSOFT STORE seemed great, when I tried to convert to MP4 it would not let me (only paid up edition) I thought about these "Online converters" but are they safe? I have got a fairly simple one for Audio conversion I just need one mostly for WMV to MP4.

Regards Brian

    You’re too kind!

We all run into times when we need to convert files for work or fun. Downloading special software and paying for it just for a couple of conversions can feel like a hassle. Some apps can do a bunch of things. But using websites is a quicker, easier way. Both are solid options.

I usually use free online converters. Just go for one with a good ranking, like CloudConvert or FreeConvert. I should mention I’m not affiliated with these sites—I’m just recommending them because I use them often.

Since this involves uploading files, if you're worried about privacy, you can always use offline software like VLC media player. It has a built-in converter, and honestly, VLC does way more than just play media.

Good morning John, I have really got carried away with this VLC formatting! I now know how to add a format that is not on the list (watched video). By the end of the day I was extracting audio sound only from videos (slow down Brian)

    Thanks again John

Hi John, just like to say a "Big Thank you" for that feedback! Like most people I have used VLC over the years but uninstalled it. I honestly did not know you could "convert" videos with it! I have now probably got the best Media player and converter all in one! (even though I am a big Microsoft fan)

    Thanks again John
