    Hi Robert,

I had same problem but this morning was able to resolve and may help you and others.

Upon power up press F2 key to take you set up utility. Scroll across to heading titled "Main". My network boot was disabled.

I enabled the network boot and hey presto wifi back for me.

I have same Acer aspire so I hope this helps you.

We have the same problem. Since an overnight OS update on the same make of machine as above. we have no wifi since that OS update.

We have attached to the internet by plugging directly into a mobile router and have carried out the recommendations in the answer given above. I.e., we have disabled and re-enabled the adapter. We have uninstalled, downloaded and reinstalled the driver. We have also pushed a new driver update and a new OS update to see if this resolves the issue and restarted the machine multiple times. None of these actions has resolved the issue.

The only thing we have not tried is to rollback the driver as this option is greyed out and therefore inaccessible.

After all these interventions we still have no wifi.

My interpretation is that the update has created an incompatibility with the driver for the WLAN.

    Please advise.

    Regards,

    Nick

I have the same problem with some different brands laptops, all from various Mediatek models.
All I have to do when it have problem is open the laptop backcover, unplug the wifi card, wait for a while, and replug it back, and then it works. I don't know what's the cause, maybe I just need replace it with new wifi cards but not from Mediatek.

Problem: MediaTek Wi-Fi MT7902 Wireless LAN Card

    • This device cannot start. (Code 10)
    • {Operation Failed}
    • The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I have the same issue with my Wi-Fi and have even spoken with Acer. The Wi-Fi is gone as if it didn't exist, and it was also gone right after an OS update and restart. I cannot uninstall the driver, even when I shut down and restart the computer. I have tried reinstalling, removing, and reinstalling…, but it can not be done; it is still the same, and I can not roll it back.

    Any suggest will help.

    Hello Simon,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

Try rolling back the Network drivers:

    1. Open the Device Manager.
    2. Expand the arrow next to Network adapters.
    3. Right-click the MediaTek Wi-Fi driver, select Properties.
    4. In the Driver tab, select roll back. (if this option is greyed out)

**Uninstall and re-install the Network drivers:**Right-click the MediaTek Wi-Fi driver, select select Uninstall device, select the Attempt to remove the driver for this device check box, and then select Uninstall.

    Once uninstalled, restart your PC.

If you still don't have a wireless network connection on your PC, go to the Acer drivers download website, and install the network drivers from them.

    https://www.acer.com/us-en/support/drivers-and-...

If you are having trouble finding the drivers, type system information in the search bar on the taskbar, and post us with the screenshot.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.

    Best regards,

    Gunasekar N
