    Hi, Ashton Haigh

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Thank you for your feedback. Changing the FPS (frame rate) on Windows 10 is usually related to the monitor and game settings you are using. Here are some troubleshooting options:

    1. Monitor refresh rate settings

Right-click on your desktop and select “Display Settings”.

Scroll down and click “Advanced Display Settings”.

    Select “Display Adapter Properties”.

In the Monitor tab, you can change the refresh rate of your monitor (e.g. 60Hz, 120Hz or higher).

Note: The higher the refresh rate, the higher the maximum FPS the monitor can display.

    1. In-Game Settings

Most games allow you to change the FPS limit in the game settings.

Open the game you want to play and go to “Settings” or “Image/Video Settings”.

Look for the option “Frame Rate Limit” or “FPS Cap” and you can set it to your desired frame rate.

You can also lower the resolution and turn off or reduce graphical effects (such as shadows, anti-aliasing, etc.) to increase the FPS.

    1. Update Graphics Driver

Make sure your graphics card driver is up-to-date, this can be done in the following ways:

Open “Device Manager” and find “Display Adapters”.

Right-click on your graphics card and select “Update Driver”.

Alternatively, download the latest drivers from your graphics card manufacturer's website (e.g. NVIDIA, AMD or Intel).

    1. Using External Tools

The NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Radeon software allows you to manually adjust game and display performance settings to improve FPS.

If you are experiencing problems with a specific game or application, you can check the specific settings or official support for that application.

I look forward to your feedback, which will help me pinpoint your issue.

    Best Regards,
