Right click your Taskbar and select Taskbar Settings.
In there, is there an option to 'Show badges on taskbar buttons'?
If that setting is enabled, disable that setting.

I recently got a new Windows 10 desktop . I turned off ALL notifications but cant seem to get rid of the ones on app icons in the taskbar , which I have included a screenshot of . The Mail and Messenger apps show a notification each and I cant get rid of or stop that from happening. In fact I have to restart the PC just to clear that in the screenshot . My other desktop doesn't show that at all > same settings on it .

2024-10-21T12:22:28+00:00 Hi and thanks for the help. I will try that today . I did manage to get rid of the one for Messenger . It was from an old buried message that I never saw. Not sure why with the new PC decided to show it lol .
