Hi, I’m Vinay. Thanks for reaching out.
I’m here to help you today.
I am sorry to hear about your lost voice recording. Mostly once a recording is lost or over written then it is not possible to recover it but there are few steps which might work sometimes.
- Press win + R - type %AppData% - click Ok - look for your recording software folder and check for any temporary files.
- If you have recorded with default built in voice recorder then it will be saved in Documents - Sound recordings folder . Check if it is located here.
- If you have file history setup then you will be able to restore previous versions of your files. Go to Control Panel - File history - Restore your files with File history and see if you can find previous versions of recording .
- Use some third party data recovery softwares like Recuva, MiniTool data recovery to recover it.

If none of these options work, I’m sorry to say that the last hour of your recording might be lost. It’s a good idea to review the settings in your recording software to make sure it can handle longer recordings in the future without cutting off.
If you have any questions, please let me know .
