Windows 11 direct Create New folder button

Hi,

In windows 11 explorer, the button "New Folder" has disapeared. You must right click + Click New + Click Folder or in the bar, on the left, click new + Click Folder.

In windows 10, there was a button "New Folder" so you could create a folder in ONE click.

Is it possible, on windows 11, to restore this button?

Thanks

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks

Honestly, Microsoft has changed things in windows 11, that sometimes I don't see the interest.

They have removed useful things, and created useless things, I don't understand ....

as an example, In explorer too, when you press a long time the back arrow, you don't have anymore the history of the previous backs ...

Changing the position of each button and adresses bars at the top,

    etc ...

    why this ... :-)

Fortunately cars manufacturers don't change the position of the pedal at each new car :-)

    Friendly

I'm not aware of a way to add a new folder button to the Windows 11 Explorer, but the old Windows 10 style Explorer is still built into Windows 11 (it's needed for the Control Panel). You can use my free SwitchExplorer tool to set is as your default Explorer.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

There is no method, setting or a known registry hack to bring back the 'New Folder' button in the new File Explorer app in Windows 11, they have not provided any way to do that.

The only other option to create a new folder is to use this keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + N
