Bascaiily what the Title says, I accidentally merged the Downloads folder with the Document folder while changing the location. I tried to restore to old back up and it didn't work. I tried going to Regedit but didn't see anything I saw online.

Here is the Regedit where i saw you had to go to fix this but it looks different then the ones i saw online. Please help. T_T

Thank you for the screenshot, please follow these steps carefully.

    1
Open File Explorer, then go into your D drive.

Right click and select New - Folder, then name it Downloads

Drag any files that should be in the Downloads folder form the root of the D drive into that new Donwlaod folder.

    Close File Explorer.

    2
Open the Registry Editor again, it will still be on the same page.

    3
Double click {7D83EE9B-2244-4E70-B1F5-5393042AF1E4}, set its Value Data to this and click OK

    D:\Downloads

    4
Double click {374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E467B}, set its Value Data to this and click OK

    D:\Downloads

    5
Close the Registry Editor, then restart (not shut down) your PC to apply the change.

That will have split the Downloads and Documents folders.

Thank you so much! is the {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756} the right for Documents? and why does Downloads have two regs is that normal?

Yes, that is correct, Personal and {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756} are the correct entry for the Documents folder, and it is normal for the Downloads folder to have the other two entries in the registry.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Your image indicates you are in the wrong registry location.

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on.

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Please provide a screenshot of that Registry Editor page.

I have attached the correct location you said. Not sure where to go from here.
