The computer belongs to you.
Windows is installed and you have a licence to use it but.... windows belongs to Microsoft.
I understand your point but windows is a service now and Microsoft have the con.

Quite a simple question. Who does the computer belong to? If it belongs to Microsoft, tell me now so I can remove Windows in its entirety and replace it with an OS that actually respects the user. If it belongs to the user, then give me back control of my computer. I don't want to use the worthless new version of Outlook. I now can't access Outlook at all. I don't need the latest update. I can't disable updates. I will never, in my life, use Internet Explorer, or Edge, or whatever name you decide to give it in the future, and same goes for your store. I can't uninstall IE or the store.
Tell me now. Who does my computer belong to? The man who used his own money to purchase it and his own time to build it? Or the soulless corporation that does nothing but waste more space with every useless update to its OS every second week?

The hardware belongs to you.
The software belongs to the developer. I can't think of any software that grants ownership rights. Users pay for the right to use the software.
As the owner of the software, the developer decides what goes into the software. As the owner of your computer, you decide what goes into your computer.
